Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine (ZCMC) In recent years, the production of primary raw materials has become one of CRONIMET's other mainstays. Since 2005, our company has owned the largest copper and molybdenum mine (ZCMC) in Armenia. ZCMCs principal asset is the world-class Kajaran mine operational since 1951. Kajaran mine contains the Armenia’s largest single copper and molybdenum reserve, having 2.2 billion tons of ore resources (B+C1, Russian Code, 2009). Currently, our systematic investments are increasing the tonnage of ore extracted to 15 million tons per year. We are strongly committed to further developments. With more than 3,200 employees, CRONIMET is one of the largest private employers in Armenia and supports numerous national educational facilities such as schools and universities.
CRONIMET Chrome CRONIMET Chrome SA Pty Ltd. Founded in 2008. The Thaba CRONIMET Chrome Mine (“Thaba Mine”) mine is located in North Western Bushveld Igneous complex covering an area of approximately 2.130 hectares. The Mining Right was granted in March 2010 for 30 years, LOM is about 26 years. The Company’s proven reserves consist of approximately 23.6 million tonnes of LG6 with 43.6% Cr2O3. The opencast 40 ktpm mining activities have been launched in 2011 and will progress to 90 ktpm complete underground operations. The primary product at the Thaba mine is the chromium ore, which is then being treated in our beneficiary plant: Lumphy to produce Metallurgical Concentrate, Chemical concentrate and foundry sand. |
